    Position Summary:The Rivers Casino and Resort Schenectady Coordinator Marketing is responsible for assisting in the planning and execution of brand enhancing promotions and events that support the company’s business objectives to deliver gaming volumes, market share and return on investment through flawless execution and superior customer service. In addition to the Marketing Department this role will have strong relationships with members of the Sales, Finance, Player’s Club, Food & Beverage, Facilities and EVS departments in addition to external agency personnel and vendors.

    Target Pay: $25.60

     

    Essential Job Functions:  

    • Assists in the development, coordination and execution of day-to-day marketing tasks including, but not limited to promotions, Entertainment, special events and social media
    • Supports the marketing team in effectively communicating marketing initiatives both internally and externally in a clear and concise manner
    • Coordinates event and promotions execution with appropriate internal departments and outside vendors
    • Assists in the creation and refinement of promotional rules and follows compliance guidelines set forth by the NYS Gaming Commission
    • Assists with writing, editing and proofing both internal and external marketing collateral
    • Contributes to marketing calendar ideation by brainstorming concepts for drawings, special events and giveaways
    • Contributes to special events calendar ideation by brainstorming concepts for entertainment and community events
    • Assists with managing entertainment and special event initiatives from booking, coordination, communication and execution of hospitality and technical riders
    • Contributes to the overall success of the marketing department by proactively coordinating day to day activities that lead to the successful completion of projects and assignments

    Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational experience desired
    • 1-3 years of relevant experience working in a comparable marketing capacity
    • Outstanding organization skills are a must, as is the ability to actively manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
    • Strong desire to take accountability and have their performance measured on contribution to business results
    • Ability to remain professional in stressful situations and the ability to thrive in high pressure, fast-paced environment
    • Analytical prowess which includes critical thinking skills that get to the root of the problem
    • Problem resolution, be decisive and timely, act on information and adapt with changes
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
    • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word required. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite a plus
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Ability to successfully fulfill the pre-employment process
    • Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays
    • Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing
    • Assists in development of general marketing plans, operating reviews and consolidation of departmental marketing plans

    Working Conditions: 

    • Work is performed both in an office and on the casino floor in a smoke-free environment.
    • Hours of work will vary based on the monthly marketing calendar and average at least 40 hours per week.
    • Based on the promotion hours will vary between daytime and early evening hours, typically.
    • Holiday and weekend work schedules will also vary. At times the Coordinator Marketing will be required to travel off property and execute events outside of the casino.
    • Team members may be required to move and lift boxes and items up to 25lbs
