Coordinates development and delivery of and frequently instructs law enforcement continuing education classes based on agency demand. Assists BLET Director as needed or requested.
Duties
Develops and coordinates law enforcement continuing education classes.
Obtains and maintains Qualified Assistant certification through NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards.
Instructs law enforcement continuing education and BLET classes as needed.
Assists with BLET administration and coordination.
Hires instructors, issues contracts, and reviews payroll for accuracy.
Maintains communication between the law enforcement agencies and various stakeholders.
Contributes to the College Vision, Mission, Values, and RISE statement.
Supports workforce diversity in all its aspects.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements (Applicant must meet all of the minimum requirements)
High school diploma or its equivalent
Five years of full-time or equivalent experience as a sworn law enforcement officer.
Two years of full-time or equivalent experience as a law enforcement instructor in NC.
NC CJ Standards General Instructor certification.
Preferred Qualifications
Five years of full-time or equivalent experience as an instructor or teacher.
Experience as a Continuing Education coordinator.
Experience as a BLET instructor.
NC Sheriffs Standards Full Limited Lecturer or General Instructor certification.
NC CJ Specialized Firearms, Physical Fitness or Driver Training Instructor certification.
Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.

If selected for hire, official sealed transcripts from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education are required to be received a minimum of two business weeks before the first day of work.
Transcripts outside of the United States, must be accompanied by an evaluation completed by a NACES recognized agency and received by Human Resources at least two weeks prior to the first day of work.

Your total compensation goes beyond this maximum salary. Your A-B Tech benefits represent nearly 30% of your total compensation.
The total compensation for this position includes an 24.67% employer contribution to a defined pension plan, contributions towards medical and dental policies and fully funded life insurance / accidental death & dismemberment policy.
