  • Support the philosophy of the Dual Language ESL Department
  • Assist Director in supporting program implementation of Dual Language and ESL programs as it relates to Emergent Bilinguals who receive special education services
  • Provide data analysis and ongoing support to department instructional specialists, principals, campus instructional coaches, lead instructional coaches, and executive directors within school leadership around program implementation and meeting the needs of Emergent Bilinguals who receive special education services.
  • Assist with instructionally-focused campus visits to facilitate and support the implementation of Bilingual ESL instructional programs, services, tools, and resources.
  • Coordinate and support the collaborative work with content and enrichment programs to provide Emergent Bilinguals who receive special education services with equitable academic and linguistic access to the curriculum.
  • Assist campuses with coordinating the development and implementation of programs that meet the needs of Emergent Bilinguals who receive special education services.
  • Work in collaboration with planning teams (both at district and campus level) to improve the quality of service and instruction for Emergent
  • Bilinguals who receive special education services that are in alignment with district policy and initiatives as well as federal and state guidelines.
  • Collaborate with content and enrichment programs to provide Emergent Bilinguals who receive special education services with equitable academic and linguistic access to the curriculum.
  • Provide expertise and technical assistance to campuses in supporting the linguistic and academic achievement of Emergent Bilinguals who receive special education services.
  • Develop and maintain positive, collegial working relationships with peers/co-workers, leadership personnel, campus administrators, and teachers.
  • Contribute as a constructive and collaborative Bilingual/ESL team member.
  • Work required evenings and Saturdays as required for Dual Language ESL Department and district events.

  • Bachelor''s Degree from an accredited university, valid Teacher Certification, Bilingual/ESL Certification, Special Education Certification; Master''s Degree preferred.
  • Five years of successful teaching experience working with Emergent Bilinguals who receive special education services.
  • Excellent organizational, oral and written communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position.
  • Ability to create, implement, present, and edit/revise written communication in all forms (print and electronic), resulting in products that are technically precise, accurate, and readable.
