Summary of Position

Coordinates development, community engagement, and event-related activities consistent with the mission and vision of The Rich Center for Autism. Works under the general supervision of the leadership of the Center, as well as The Beeghly College of Liberal Arts, Social Sciences, and Education. Coordinates, plans, and executes assigned activities associated with developmental and community events. Supports and assists with developing and implementing strategies and activities for income and fundraising operations, including the use of development software. Provides support on an as needed basis throughout the department.

Position Information

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Ensures the day-to-day functionality of the department's income and fundraising operations. Coordinates daily tasks related to the organization's development plan designed to meet the goals and the objectives of the department as approved by and in collaboration with the Executive Director, Friends of The Rich Center Board, and Rich Center Advisory Board.

Coordinates the cultivation and stewardship of volunteers, donors, gift processing, campaign oversight, and reporting functions, ensuring that all donors receive timely acknowledgements of their gifts.

Manages and optimizes use of the donor database system.

Coordinates and directs special events, including the solicitation of sponsors and management of logistics, in cooperation with any related constituents, Friends of The Rich Center Board, event committee, and volunteers.

Works in conjunction with administration to develop outreach and marketing information and materials to be used in communicating the center's mission to supporters, including writing, and editing content for the annual reports, board meetings, donor meetings, social media channels, and press releases.

Assists in editing newsletters, proposal drafts, donor communications, and other promotional materials as needed; website and social media management.

Assists in planning, coordinating, and executing logistics for special events, including but not limited to community events and resource fairs, cultivation and donor receptions, and fundraisers including luncheons and galas.

Other Functions and Responsibilities: Maintains regular communication with supervisor and other staff, including student workers, as required or needed in the completion of daily tasks in support of the department's/division's overall goals and objectives. Field and follow up with general phone and email inquiries.

Files, performs data entry, orders office supplies, compiles mail merges, and maintains database updates.

Gathers data and prepares reports and other information/documentation for supervisory review?related to the department's/division's programs and/or services, or one or more assigned components thereof.

Remains informed of current developments and procedures pertinent to duties; participates in staff development activities; attends meetings, conferences, and other events.

Performs other related duties as assigned and/or required.

Equipment Operated: Computer and all other standard office equipment.

Work Schedule: Typically, M-T-W-Th-F 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including occasional evening and weekend meetings and activities.

Primary Location: Youngstown

Supervision Exercised: May exercise supervision over student employees.

Reports to: Executive Director, Rich Center for Autism.

Minimum Qualifications: At least a bachelor's degree in a related field and at least six months of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Ability to work with a diverse group of people, including volunteers, staff, supporters, and donors; knowledge of fundraising rules and regulations; experience in development/fundraising and special events; knowledge of and experience working with individuals with autism and/or other disabilities; committed to the mission of The Rich Center for Autism.

Physical Requirements: In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform light work.

Light: work involves exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects, requiring: (1) walking or standing to a significant degree; (2) sitting most of the time while pushing or pulling arm or leg controls; or (3) working at a production rate pace while constantly pushing or pulling materials even though the weight or the materials is negligible. (The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.)
