    What’s the opportunity?

Be the architect of automated inspection. You’ll program CMMs and other metrology systems, design fixtures and gages, and turn GD&T into reliable, repeatable measurements that keep production on track from first‑article to final release.

What will I be responsible for?

    • Develop, verify, and run automated CMM/metrology programs supporting first‑piece, in‑process, and final inspections.
    • Prove out routines to control bias, confirm linearity, and strengthen repeatability/reproducibility; communicate Alpha/Beta measurement risk and recommendations.
    • Maintain automated inspection equipment: probe qualifications, routine cleaning, and scale checks.
    • Design/procure workholding, fixtures, and functional gages; set instrument criteria and acceptance specs.
    • Enable automatic data collection from measurement equipment to inspection plans.
    • Create inspection methods, tool mapping, FAIs, and in‑process checks aligned with manufacturing flow.
    • Revise programs/documents to match engineering changes.
    • Support root‑cause problem solving for automated inspection, tooling, and software.
    • Lead/support Gage R&R and other MSA work; coordinate or perform calibration to maintain traceability to national/international standards.
    • Write work instructions and train operators on designated automated inspection equipment.
    • Handle additional related duties as assigned.

    What background do I need?

    • Strong command of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and relevant ANSI/ASME and ISO standards.
    • Experience with precision instruments: CMMs, Vision Systems, and Contracers.
    • Programming strengths in Calypso (preferred) or PC‑DMIS/Open DMIS.
    • 3D modeling and drafting experience; able to translate CAD into resilient measurement strategies.
    • Clear English communication; able to partner with R&D, Manufacturing, and QA while operating with minimal guidance.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe PDF.
    • Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience with advanced metrology equipment.

    What helps me stand out?

    • Time in regulated industries (Aerospace, Defense, Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, etc.).
    • Familiarity with GMP/ISO requirements.
    • Experience with CT scanning, white‑light scanning, and broader 3D metrology methods.
    • Background with PC‑DMIS or Geomeasure.

What education or training is relevant?

    • Associate’s degree preferred (Manufacturing or Engineering) or equivalent directly transferable experience.
    • Focus areas: Drafting/GD&T, CMM programming, CAD modeling, Vision System programming.

What are the travel and physical expectations?

    • Travel up to 10% annually; flexibility for last‑minute emergencies.
    • Trips may include multiple overnight stays and occasional weekends.
    • Physically able to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs (team lift/mechanical assist over 50 lbs).
    • Frequent keyboard/computer work; ability to wear PPE (cut‑resistant gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, slip‑resistant shoes).

Where will I make an impact right away?

    • Precision Measurement & Hand Metrology
    • Machine Geometry & Alignment
