POSITION SUMMARY:
Borden Dairy is seeking a team-oriented and resourceful professional to join our team as a Cooler Supervisor. In this dynamic leadership role, you will be responsible for coordinating and directing all shift-level shipping activities to ensure the efficient packaging, preparation, and loading of quality products for safe delivery to customers.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise, lead, and mentor hourly shipping team members.
- Support the Shipping Manager in training, process improvement, and operational efficiency.
- Prioritize workloads and assist in scheduling and performance assessments of hourly staff.
- Identify and implement process improvements using a continuous improvement mindset.
- Enforce company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with OSHA regulations.
- Foster a positive and productive working relationship with the supply chain leadership team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to meet safety, service, cost, and personnel goals.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in a related field highly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a systematic approach.
- Ability to interpret and explain complex data sets.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to train, mentor, and develop team members.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, reaching, climbing, pulling, and bending.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift/move over 100 lbs.
- Must be able to work in a wet, cold environment.
- Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and caustic chemicals.
- Exposure to nut allergens may occur.
