Zaxby’s most popular items are its fresh, hand-breaded Chicken Fingerz and Jumbo Buffalo Wings, smothered in a choice of sauces with names like Wimpy, Tongue Torch, Nuclear and Insane.

Initial training will be held in Albany, Ga until our building process is complete. We understand that may be a longer commute.Therefore, milage will be reimbursed for those driving from Sylvester.

Position Summary

As a Cook at Zaxby's, you'll play an essential role in delivering an outstanding guest experience by preparing and serving high-quality food efficiently and consistently.

Your responsibilities will include preparing, cooking, and assembling menu items, receiving and stocking inventory, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and following established food safety and quality standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Quality

• Prepare, cook, and assemble menu items according to Zaxby's standards.
• Accurately package guest orders while maintaining quality and presentation.
• Follow all food handling, sanitation, and safety regulations.
• Safely operate kitchen equipment, including fryers, knives, and other food preparation tools.
• Maintain appropriate product levels at assigned stations to ensure efficient service.
• Complete assigned tasks promptly and with a sense of urgency.

Kitchen Operations & Inventory

• Receive, inspect, and stock incoming inventory deliveries.
• Properly store and handle food products according to food safety guidelines.
• Assist with inventory organization, storage, and management.
• Notify management when additional supplies or inventory are needed.
• Maintain clean, organized workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
• Identify and report equipment maintenance needs to management.
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and operational guidelines.

Teamwork & Guest Experience

• Represent the Zaxby's brand with a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
• Stay informed about current promotions and menu offerings.
• Assist with guest service and front-of-house operations when needed.
• Work cooperatively with team members and management to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming restaurant environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Position Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Must be able to work 32–40 hours per week.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented restaurant environment.
• Commitment to maintaining food quality, cleanliness, and safety standards.

Physical & Workplace Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

• Sit, stand, and walk continuously throughout a shift.
• Occasionally bend, stoop, crouch, or climb, including using ladders.
• Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting.
• Continuously use hands and wrists for grasping, handling, and fine motor tasks.
• Communicate effectively through speaking, reading, and writing.
• Maintain appropriate visual and auditory awareness and sound judgment to respond safely to the work environment.
• Work in areas with varying hot and cold temperatures and potential exposure to food allergens.
• Safely operate restaurant equipment, including knives, fryers, and other potentially hazardous tools.
