Liberty School District is accepting applications for a Cook beginning with the 2026-27 school year. The position will be 180 days, 5.5 hours per day.

SUMMARY: The part-time position will be responsible for all facets of school food preparation, service, clean-up and recordkeeping. Shift hours are anticipated to be 7:30 am to 1:00 pm daily.

INTERESTED APPLICANTS MUST HAVE:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid Washington State Food Service Worker's Permit
• Valid driver's license
• Experience in large volume food preparation, serving and handling preferred
• Experience with Skyward school meal tracker computer system(s) preferred
• Physical stamina to handle heavy lifting (50#) and be on your feet for long periods of time
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a calm, courteous, and friendly manner
• Maintain a neat personal appearance and pleasant attitude with students, staff and the public
• Interest in and availability for training opportunities
• Must be dependable and able to work in a team situation

SALARY: $20.55 - $27.62 per hour

BENEFITS: Liberty School District offers a competitive benefits package to employees who work half-time or more. These benefits are administered by the Washington State Health Care Authority/Public Employee Benefits Board.

Medical: Choice of six medical plans. Employee cost is dependent upon which plan is chosen and which family members are covered.

Dental: Choice of three dental plans. Dental insurance is a mandatory benefit and is free to the employee and family.

Life Insurance: Basic life insurance in the amount of $35,000 is mandatory and is free to the employee. Additional/optional life insurance can be purchased at an additional cost for the employee and family.

Long-term Disability Insurance: Basic long-term disability insurance is mandatory and is free to the employee. Additional long-term disability can be purchased at an additional cost.
