    The Opportunity

    We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our Dining Services team. This is a great opportunity for someone with restaurant cooking experience who enjoys preparing quality food from scratch and wants to bring those skills to a welcoming, resident-focused environment.

    This part-time position offers 20–29 hours per week and requires flexibility to work morning and evening shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events as scheduled.

    What You'll Do

    • Prepare high-quality meals from scratch, including soups, sauces, meats, seafood, vegetables, and daily specials.
    • Follow established menus, recipes, and resident dietary needs.
    • Prepare meals that meet specialized or therapeutic diet requirements as needed.
    • Ensure food quality, consistency, proper portions, and presentation.
    • Safely operate and maintain kitchen equipment.
    • Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen.
    • Work collaboratively with the Dining Services team to provide timely and exceptional service.
    • Assist with special events, holiday meals, and other dining needs throughout the year.

    What We're Looking For

    • At least 1 year of professional restaurant cooking experience required.
    • Experience in senior living, healthcare dining, or preparing specialized/therapeutic diets preferred.
    • Knowledge of scratch cooking and basic culinary techniques.
    • Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
    • Ability to follow recipes, menus, and dietary guidelines.
    • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
    • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
    • Flexibility to work morning and evening shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.
    • A positive, service-oriented approach and desire to provide an excellent dining experience for our residents.
