We are seeking a dependable, compassionate and experienced cook to join our Dietary team in providing nutritious, high- quality meals for residents in our skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate is committed to food safety, resident satisfaction, positive attitude, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work on their feet for extended periods of time and preparing meals that meet specialized dietary needs, emphasizing the IDDSI (International Dysphagia Diet Standardization initiative) Standards, Experience in cooking and kitchen tasks is required for this position.

Responsibilities:
- Meal preparation- Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes, physician-ordered diets, and facility menus
- Food preparation
- Prepare texture-modified foods and thickened liquids in accordance with IDDSI guidelines
- Assist maintaining all health code regulations in kitchen
- Ensure that all food is presented in an attractive and appetizing manner
- Provide excellent customer service to residents and guests
- Assist with cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen and dining areas
- Follow all safety and sanitation regulations, including HACCP procedures
- Monitor food temperatures during preparation, holding, and service
- Work closely with the Registered Dietitian, Speech-Language Pathologist, and Dietary Manager to meet residents nutritional needs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen
- Assist with inventory, food storage, and receiving deliveries
Requirements:
- Positive attitude and excellent customer service skills
- Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, long-term care, or skilled nursing setting preferred
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets and modified textures is must
- Experience with the IDDS framework
- Understanding of food safety, sanitations, and temperature control standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work on feet for extended periods of time
- Ability to follow recipes
- Understanding of basic cooking techniques
- Reliable means of transportation to and from work
- Work EOW plus some Holidays
