Maintain the kitchen, food preparation and food storage areas in an attractive, sanitary manner by performing duties including floor cleaning, equipment cleaning, dish washing, stocking supplies, trash removal and any other tasks needed to maintain daily operations. Adhere to all specified security and safety regulations such as lifting ( up to 50lbs), grease straining, operating the slicer, floor cleaning, reporting suspicious activity by guest or others, controlling access to food storage areas, keys, and back door.

Job Summary:
Responsible for kitchen set up, pre-meal food prep work, food preparation, plating, maintain a clean kitchen and sanitation of storage and preparation areas.
Responsibilities:

1. Having complete knowledge of the menu and receipts, including preparation procedures, plating, garnishment, portion size, pricing and special handling instructions.
2. Set up equipment and prep food based on the business forecast information received.
3. Prepare food orders, adhering to the preparation, portion control, and plating and garnishment procedures as specified.
4. Maintain the kitchen, food preparation and food storage areas in an attractive, sanitary manner by performing duties including floor cleaning, equipment cleaning, dish washing, stocking supplies, trash removal and any other tasks needed to maintain daily operations.
5. Adhere to all specified security and safety regulations such as lifting ( up to 50lbs), grease straining, operating the slicer, floor cleaning, reporting suspicious activity by guest or others, controlling access to food storage areas, keys, and back door.  In addition, this position must strictly adhere to work rules concerning employees’ food, employee parking, storage of personal items, etc.
6. Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance.  Extend hospitality and courtesy to guests and other employees.  Respond appropriately to requests for information and to complaints.
7. Perform other tasks or job functions assigned by management (i.e. training other employees, acting as dishwasher, special organizing or cleaning duties, etc.).
8. Supervise dishwasher to assure that he/she is kept busy with tasks.
9. Practice proper sanitation procedures at all times to prevent cross contamination and transfer food or human-born bacteria and illness.
10. Prepare special food variations as requested by the guest via the food server.
11. Assist with hotel or restaurant functions.  This includes the setting up, refreshing, and tearing down.
12. Perform any additional duties as designated by the Kitchen or General Manager.
