Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Cook 2 is an experienced level position and is responsible for patient meal preparation. You will report to the Supervisor/Manager on duty.

Primary Tasks:

  • You will prepare different ingredients to be cooked to include washing, chopping, slicing, and peeling of fruits and vegetables.

  • Cook food to include baking, broiling, frying, steaming, braising, and boiling; provide meals that are cooked, tasty and visually appealing; taste foods before serving and provide garnishes for food plates.

  • Provide high quality, fresh food to guests using standardized recipes following the Oklahoma Diet Manual; assist in creating menus.

  • You control the level of waste by proper production levels and converted portion guidelines.

  • Store and label prepared and open food following the Choctaw Nation food safety guidelines.

  • Practice proper food storage; follow suitable food serving temperatures and documentation.

  • Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized work environment by practicing proper housekeeping procedure such as cleaning while working.

  • Help with set-up, service, and clean-up of food production.

  • Rotate stock to ensure usage and disposal occurs before the expiration date.

  • Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.

Requirements:

  • Food Handlers Permit through Choctaw Nation

  • Knowledge of the Oklahoma Diet Manual

  • Ability to read and follow recipes

  • Two [2] years directly related experience
