At JOIA Aruba by Iberostar we are looking for a Cook 2 to join our Culinary team, but before knowing more about the position, we think its important that you learn a little about us:

Your main mission as a Cook 2 is to prepare the batch of garnishes, soups, simple preparations and their previous production to offer in the hotel restaurants.

As Cook 2, What will your day-to-day work be like?:

• Comply with the registration regulations and security systems of the company, as well as with the established work regulations.
• Prepare the work material according to the activities to be carried out and the areas operations manual.
• Carry out together with the kitchen assistant the mise en place (set of ingredients, equipment and kitchen tools necessary to make a special dish) in order to speed up the preparation of dishes. Make base preparations for production.
• Cover cooks break A.
• Assemble production on food display lines in restaurants and fill if necessary.
• Decorate the dishes that are served to the diner.
• Assemble garnishes for the dishes offered to the diner.
• Store supplies that are necessary for food preparation to keep work areas clean and tidy.
• Properly handle food according to hygiene and safety standards.
• Offer the "show cooking" service in the preparation of food to guests in the areas required in order to provide the customer with a personalized and distinctive service.
• Properly carry the necessary protection and safety equipment consisting of: anti-slip shoes, hair net and hat.
• Carry out cleaning and ensure the good use of your work equipment, in order to keep it in optimal conditions.
• Support in the activities of the Kitchen department, in order to maintain performance levels and its efficiency.

Academic Qualification:

Basic Education

Experience:

1 year experience in specific position

Knowledge:

• Hygiene and quality certifications.
• Knowledge of Logistics, receipt of goods and storage of products
• Division and knowledge of production and development areas in industrial kitchens

Cooking basics:

• Basic knowledge of tools and kitchenware
• Basic kitchen terminology
• Basic cuts (brunoise, julienne, mirepoix, fruit salad, veggies, slices and pen)
• Basic cuts of beef, poultry, goats, fish and seafood
• Knowledge of fruit and vegetable basket (identification)
• Cooking methods (dry, wet and mixed)
