About the OpportunityDoherty Staffing Solutions is hiring Converting Operators for a paper bag manufacturing company in Sibley, Iowa. What You'll Do as a Converting Operator – 3rd Shift:- Set up and operate bag converting machinery to produce SOS and satchel-bottom bags
- Monitor machine controls, make adjustments, and perform minor repairs as needed
- Complete quality inspections and audits to ensure products meet specifications
- Load and splice paper rolls, thread materials through the machine, and maintain production flow
- Fill glue reservoirs, verify guards and tooling are in place, and ensure equipment is operating safely
- Change rolls, make production adjustments, and assist team members as needed
- Maintain a clean work area while meeting safety, productivity, and waste goals
What You Need to Bring to the Converting Operator – 3rd Shift Role:- Previous manufacturing experience preferred; paper bag converting experience is a plus
- Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds occasionally
- Basic math, reading, writing, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and follow safety procedures, work instructions, and quality standards
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify product defects
- Team-oriented attitude with the ability to train and support coworkers when needed
