Converting Operations Technician -- Metal-Based Laminates

Pay: $25.33/hour. Benefits (medical, dental, vision) start on Day 1.

You arrive to a clean, safety-first production floor and review the prior shift’s notes. After a quick equipment check, you bring the laminating and slitting lines up to speed, verifying yardage, cut widths, and material weights match spec. You stage rolls with a forklift, swap adhesive drums, and execute roll splices per SOPs to minimize downtime. Throughout the day you log production orders and raw material usage, run lab checks, and flag defects to protect quality. When the line pauses, you tidy work areas to GMP standards, sweep, organize tools, and remove packaging waste. Before handoff, you brief the next operator so the transition is seamless.

• Champion safe work practices and contribute to a positive safety culture
• Operate converting equipment to hit uptime goals and meet exact yardage, width, and weight targets
• Perform changeovers: adhesive drums, roll changes, and splices per procedures
• Complete daily job reports, production orders, and material usage entries
• Conduct visual/manual quality checks, perform lab checks, and flag defects
• Operate forklifts to stage raw materials and remove used materials for quick changeovers
• Maintain housekeeping and GMP standards; organize tools and dispose of packaging waste
• Communicate effectively to ensure smooth shift transitions and resolve production issues
• Other tasks as assigned

• High school diploma or GED
• Manufacturing experience preferred
• Comfort with basic math, data entry, and computer-based recordkeeping
• Strong teamwork and communication skills

• Stand, walk, and move about the facility for 8–12 hours per shift
• Regularly lift/carry up to 40 lbs.; push/pull up to 40 lbs.
• Reach, perform repetitive motions, and coordinate frequent use of hands/feet
• Frequent head/neck rotation and upper-body twisting
• Visual acuity to read gauges, documentation, and inspect products
• Work safely in high-heat areas (90–110°ree;F) for extended periods
• Wear required PPE: safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear

• Industrial manufacturing setting with moving mechanical equipment
• Potential exposure to chemicals or hazardous materials
• Consistent moderate to high noise levels (hearing protection provided)

This position is located within a federally regulated Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ). In accordance with applicable laws, a background check will be conducted after a conditional offer of employment.
