Converting Line Operator — Laminating, Slitting & Sheeting

    Location: Fairfield, NJ 07004

Schedule: Full-time with overtime opportunities; All Shifts Available

    A Day in the Life

You clock in at our Fairfield manufacturing facility and review the day’s work orders. After a quick safety check, you and your assigned helper stage materials and prepare a laminator, sheeter, or slitter for the first run. Throughout the shift, you monitor controls, watch web paths, verify specifications, and make small, approved adjustments to keep production running smoothly. You continually scan for surface defects, measure output against job requirements, and document production counts, material usage, and any downtime.

If something sounds off or a roll isn’t tracking correctly, you stop the machine and alert a supervisor or maintenance right away. Between jobs, you handle basic cleaning and operator-level care so the next run starts efficiently. You keep your area organized, communicate clearly with helpers and teammates, and support the team by taking overtime when it’s available.

    What You’ll Handle

    • Start up, run, monitor, and shut down laminators, sheeters, slitters, and related equipment with a focus on safety.

    • Partner closely with your assigned helper to move materials efficiently—large lines are not run alone.
    • Inspect in-process materials and finished goods for visible defects and confirm they meet job specs.
    • Record production data, including quantities, materials, and downtime.
    • Stay alert for unusual sounds, motion, or conditions; stop machines and report issues promptly.
    • Perform routine cleaning and basic operator maintenance.
    • Maintain housekeeping and follow all machine guarding, PPE expectations, and safety rules.
