Our client, a leading manufacturing organization, is seeking a Controls Engineer SME to join their team. As a Controls Engineer SME, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting the Manufacturing Operations team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

What's the Job?

  • Develop and implement process control strategies across multiple manufacturing sites to enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Review existing control systems and network architecture, identifying gaps and recommending improvements, including the deployment of Manufacturing Execution Systems.
  • Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC logic, HMI, SCADA, and industrial networking systems to support operational efficiency and safety.
  • Lead control system integration projects for equipment upgrades and new installations, ensuring seamless operation and minimal downtime.
  • Mentor and support site controls engineers, providing technical guidance and training to foster a knowledgeable and capable team.

What's Needed?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Technology, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Wonderware System Platform, Rockwell Suite (Studio 5000 / RS Logix 5000, Factory Talk), and PLC programming, preferably with Allen-Bradley systems.
  • Proficiency in designing, configuring, and troubleshooting HMI & SCADA systems, with a solid understanding of industrial networking (EtherNet/IP).
  • Experience leading control system projects, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to collaborate across departments, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
