- Experience troubleshooting control logic, sequencing, trips, alarms, and field instrumentation.
- GE LM6000 or similar aeroderivative gas turbine experience strongly preferred.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Woodward MicroNet Controls Engineer to support the commissioning recovery and startup of two GE LM6000 simple-cycle gas turbine units. This position will provide hands-on controls expertise to identify and resolve outstanding controls and system integration issues and support the units through commissioning, startup, testing, and reliable commercial operation. The Controls Engineer will work closely with commissioning leadership, I&C personnel, operators, OEM representatives, and specialty vendors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot Woodward MicroNet control system issues affecting turbine startup and operation.
- Review control logic, sequencing, permissives, interlocks, alarms, and trip conditions.
- Diagnose controls-related startup failures and equipment performance issues.
- Support testing and validation of turbine controls, instrumentation, and associated systems.
- Coordinate troubleshooting and corrective actions with I&C personnel, operators, OEMs, and vendors.
- Review available controls documentation, configuration records, drawings, test records, and commissioning data.
- Support turbine startups, testing, reliability runs, and resolution of commissioning punch-list items.
Job Requirements:
- Extensive hands-on experience with Woodward MicroNet control systems.
- Strong gas turbine controls and commissioning/startup background.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot complex control logic and system integration issues.
- Working knowledge of instrumentation, fuel/control systems, field devices, and turbine operating sequences.
- Ability to read P&IDs, control narratives, logic diagrams, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Willingness to work an extended commissioning schedule in a field environment.
Education / Experience:
- Technical degree, engineering degree, or equivalent combination of technical training and field experience.
- 10+ years of industrial controls, turbine controls, or commissioning experience preferred.
- Previous LM6000, LM2500, TM2500, or comparable aeroderivative gas turbine experience strongly preferred.
