    Job Description

    The Controls Engineer will support the design, troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement of automated manufacturing equipment used in medical device production. The role focuses on production uptime, equipment reliability, product quality, and regulatory compliance. The engineer will work with Controls Technicians, Maintenance, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Validation, and Production teams. Strong hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, FactoryTalk HMIs, industrial networks, and automated manufacturing systems is required.

    • Industrial Ethernet and communication protocols
    • Electrical control systems, sensors, actuators, VFDs, and motion control
    • PLC programming and troubleshooting
    • HMI development and optimization
    • OSI PI / SCADA / Data Historian
    • Cognex In-Sight / VisionPro
    • Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement
    • Equipment reliability and uptime improvement

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
    • 3+ years of experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment
    • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC platforms and Studio 5000
    • Experience with FactoryTalk View ME/SE HMI development
    • Experience troubleshooting automation systems in manufacturing
    • Strong understanding of industrial networks and electrical control systems

    Additional Skills

    • Medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulated manufacturing experience
    • OSI PI or similar SCADA/data historian experience
    • Cognex vision systems
    • FDA, GMP, and validation processes
    • FAT, SAT, IQ/OQ/PQ, and change control
    • MES, SQL, data analytics, or Industry 4.0
    • Machine safety and risk assessment
    • Technical documentation, project management, and training
