This Controls Engineer will play a key role in the design, programming, and commissioning of custom automated equipment used by leading manufacturers around the world. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting industrial systems, and supporting equipment from concept through production.

Description

The Controls Engineer will report directly into the Engineering Manager and be responsible for:

• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs for automated equipment and production systems.
• Support machine startup, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Assist with HMI development and control system integration.
• Troubleshoot electrical and controls-related issues during equipment builds and customer support activities.
• Work with engineers and technicians to implement design improvements and system upgrades.
• Support the creation and maintenance of electrical schematics, controls documentation, and software backups.
• Assist in continuous improvement projects focused on machine performance, reliability, and safety.
• Participate in equipment validation activities as needed.

Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of controls, automation, or electrical engineering experience.
• Experience programming and troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.
• Allen-Bradley PLC experience preferred; experience with other PLC platforms will also be considered.
• Familiarity with HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, and industrial communication protocols.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and assist with system troubleshooting.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to engineering.
• Ability to support occasional travel for equipment installation and startup activities.
