Controls Engineer – Building Automation Systems (BAS)

Hybrid with Occasional Site Travel
Seeking a Controls Engineer to design, program, and support building automation systems (BAS) across commercial and industrial projects. This role focuses on system design, programming, and technical leadership, supporting projects from concept through commissioning.
Responsibilities
Design and program building automation and HVAC control systems
Develop control algorithms, system configurations, and user interfaces (graphics/HMI)
Create and maintain detailed design documentation for project teams
Manage multiple engineering projects, ensuring timely and efficient execution
Collaborate across disciplines to support large, complex projects
Test and validate system programming before implementation
Provide technical support to sales and project teams
Identify project risks and opportunities and communicate effectively
Support functional testing and commissioning activities, including occasional site visits
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
5+ years of experience in HVAC controls/building automation systems
Experience with BAS design, programming, and system configuration
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (HVAC focus preferred)
Experience with BAS platforms (e.g., WebCTRL or similar systems)
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networks and system integration
Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings
Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to customers
Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
