Details: 18-month contract with ongoing need, opportunity for direct hire, fully onsite role

Pay Rate: $39.00 - 43.00/hr. with benefit inclusions

Job Summary

We are seeking a Controls Engineer to support machine validation and data collection activities for multiple equipment platforms. This role focuses on planning and executing validation tests, collecting performance data, verifying system functionality, and supporting engineering teams through hands-on machine testing in both office and field environments. This is an excellent opportunity to work with advanced machine technologies, controls systems, and outdoor testing activities while collaborating with a supportive engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute machine validation and data collection activities.
• Prepare machines for testing through software flashing, system setup, and readiness verification.
• Troubleshoot machine, controls, network, and communication system issues.
• Utilize Ethernet and CAN networks to support testing and data acquisition.
• Collect, transfer, upload, and document machine performance data for engineering analysis.
• Collaborate with engineers, team leads, and stakeholders to meet testing objectives and project deadlines.
• Provide status updates, maintain test records, and ensure completion of assigned requests.
• Support field testing activities and work directly with machines in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.

Years of Experience and Education

• 0-2 years of engineering experience required; internship experience is acceptable.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.

Skills Required

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of controls systems, machine validation, and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of Ethernet and CAN communications.
• Strong computer skills; Linux experience preferred.
• Experience with data collection, data transfer, system setup, and software flashing.
• Ability to follow test procedures and ensure systems are fully functional before data collection.
