This position is responsible for analyzing building automation and control systems/data and recommending modifications to achieve better operation or energy efficiency.
Detailed Responsibilities include:
This position has been designated as mandatory personnel for the University and may be required to report to work during adverse weather conditions even though the University may be operating on an alternate schedule. This position may assist in the removal of snow, ice or debris, as required.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in the engineering discipline related to the area of assignment (mechanical or electrical disciplines); or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Required Certifications or Licensures
Valid NC Drivers License or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The primary purpose of the Physical Plant is to maintain the building, grounds, and infrastructure of the UNCW campus so that it is safe, reliable, clean, and attractive. This includes departments such as Electric, Fire Alarm, Food Services, General Maintenance, HVAC, HVAC Controls, Housekeeping, Landscaping, Motor Pool, Physical Security and Access and Locksmith Services and Plumbing.
The HVAC Controls Department manages and maintains the Building Automation System (BAS) and associated control systems that monitor, regulate, and optimize campus HVAC equipment. The department provides system programming, troubleshooting, diagnostics, commissioning, and performance analysis to ensure reliable building operation, occupant comfort, energy efficiency, and support for the University's research, instructional, and operational needs.
