Position Purpose
Owns the control system as an owner asset rather than a vendor deliverable, ensuring accountability after the integrator leaves.
Key Responsibilities
Own the control system architecture, including DCS, PLC, safety instrumented system, historian and network segregation.
Review, test and accept integrator configuration, graphics, alarms, interlocks and sequences before handover.
Lead factory acceptance testing and site acceptance testing, and run loop checks and functional testing with the field engineers.
Configure and rationalize the alarm system so that operators receive an actionable alarm load, not a flood.
Own control narratives, interlock schedules and cause and effect matrices as controlled documents.
Set up the historian, batch records and reporting that operations and quality will rely on.
Establish cybersecurity controls, backup and recovery procedures for control system assets.
Provide control system support through commissioning, startup and into operations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical, control, chemical or computer engineering.
Seven or more years of industrial control system engineering, including at least one greenfield commissioning.
Hands on configuration experience on a major DCS or PLC platform.
Working knowledge of functional safety concepts and safety instrumented systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Batch control experience under ISA 88.
TUV functional safety certification.
Historian and manufacturing execution system integration experience.
