Controller

About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead and strengthen its accounting and finance function. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting leader who enjoys balancing day-to-day execution with process improvement, team leadership, and strategic financial planning.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, growing SaaS environment and enjoys building scalable financial processes while partnering closely with executive leadership.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, journal entries, and monthly and year-end close
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Lead the month-end close process and ensure compliance with internal financial policies
- Develop annual budgets, financial forecasts, cash flow projections, and variance analysis
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
- Manage and mentor the accounting team while improving processes and internal controls
- Partner with leadership to provide financial insight and support strategic business decisions
- Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability
- Develop and track key financial metrics and performance indicators
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience, including prior experience as a Controller or Accounting Manager
- Strong background supporting a SaaS or subscription-based business
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience managing monthly close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Experience consolidating financial statements
- Experience migrating from QuickBooks Enterprise to QuickBooks Online is a plus
- Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- CPA and/or Big 4 public accounting experience preferred

- Base Salary: $140,000 plus performance-based bonus
