Controller
Location: Spring Valley, NY
Compensation: $150,000 $170,000 DOE
A well-established nonprofit organization is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all financial operations and provide strong fiscal leadership. This hands-on role will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, audits, compliance, payroll oversight, and maintaining strong internal controls.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and general ledger activities.
- Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, government regulations, and funding requirements.
- Coordinate audits, tax filings, Form 990 preparation, and financial reporting.
- Oversee payroll processes and internal financial controls.
- Partner with executive leadership on financial planning and organizational strategy.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 710 years of accounting experience, including 3+ years of supervisory experience.
- Strong nonprofit and fund accounting experience required.
- CPA preferred.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
