    Description

    Position Overview

    We are seeking an experienced and client-focused Controller to lead and oversee our Managed Accounting Services (MAS) department. This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of client engagements, supervising accounting staff, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and serving as a strategic advisor to business clients across a variety of industries.

    The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong technical accounting expertise, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple client relationships in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Client Accounting & Advisory

    • * Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for multiple client engagements, including:
    •          o* General ledger management

               o* Month-end and year-end close

               o* Financial statement preparation

               o* Cash flow management

               o* Budgeting and forecasting

               o* Account reconciliations

    • * Review and analyze financial reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP.
    • * Serve as the primary financial contact and trusted advisor for assigned clients.
    • * Provide strategic insights and recommendations to help clients improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
    • * Assist clients with process improvement, internal controls, and accounting system optimization.
    • Team Leadership & Management

    • * Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff within the Managed Accounting Services team.
    • * Review work performed by staff accountants and senior accountants to ensure quality and timeliness.
    • * Manage workflow, project deadlines, and client deliverables across multiple engagements.
    • * Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations.
    • Operational Excellence

    • * Develop and maintain standardized accounting procedures and best practices.
    • * Ensure compliance with firm policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • * Collaborate with tax and advisory teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
    • * Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and technology solutions.
    • * Participate in business development activities, including client onboarding and relationship expansion.
    • Qualifications

    • * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
    • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within public accounting, outsourced accounting, or client advisory services.
    • * Prior experience supervising accounting teams and managing client relationships.
    • * Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
    • * Proficiency with accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Xero, or similar systems.
    • * Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
    • * Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
    • * Strong written and verbal communication skills.
