    Description

    We are partnering with a high-growth professional services firm in the Fort Worth area to identify a Controller with direct prior experience serving as a Controller or Assistant Controller within a professional services organization.

    This role requires hands-on leadership of accounting operations in an environment driven by hourly billing, invoicing, work-in-progress, and active cash management. The ideal candidate has already operated at the Controller or Assistant Controller level in a law firm, CPA firm, consulting firm, or similar professional services business, and is comfortable scaling people, processes, and systems alongside rapid growth.

    Key Responsibilities

    Accounting & Financial Operations

    Lead all day-to-day accounting functions including general ledger, AP, AR, billing, payroll, and month-end close

    Oversee professional services billing operations, including hourly billing, invoice accuracy, revenue recognition, and coordination with operations and leadership

    Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close and financial reporting

    Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures as the organization grows

    Partner closely with the CFO on financial reporting, forecasting inputs, and executive-level insights




    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
    • Current or prior experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller within a professional services firm
    • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ yrs managing a team 
    • CPA or pursing
    • Deep understanding of GAAP based accrual accounting, including hourly billing, invoicing, AR/AP, WIP, and the cash cycle
    • Proven experience leading and developing accounting teams
    • Ability to operate effectively in a high-growth, evolving environment
