    Plant Controller

    Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
    Classification: Exempt | Professional

    Position Summary

    The Plant Controller will lead the plant’s accounting and cost-control activities, providing financial analysis and guidance to plant and corporate management. This hands-on position is responsible for cost accounting, inventory valuation, budgeting, forecasting, monthly close support, management reporting, and oversight of the local accounting team. The Plant Controller will also identify cost-saving opportunities and support operational improvements throughout the manufacturing and transmission rebuild processes.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and supervise the local accounting team, including one or more cost accountants.
    • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities related to material usage and labor efficiency using cost accounting and Six Sigma methodologies.
    • Develop and maintain cost models to calculate the actual cost of finished goods based on bills of materials, actual attrition rates, labor, overhead, and current pricing.
    • Prepare cost estimates for new and special products to support selling-price decisions and production forecasts.
    • Compile and analyze manufacturing costs, including payroll, inventory, factory labor, overhead, actual costs, and variances.
    • Calculate burden rates and establish expense budgets for manufacturing and service departments.
    • Develop and maintain systems for determining product and service unit costs.
    • Allocate costs among management, production, and other operating divisions.
    • Classify and analyze production costs, including labor, materials, and overhead.
    • Support the monthly financial close process.
    • Provide plant and corporate management with cost analysis, financial guidance, and decision support.
    • Coordinate financial analysis and cost development for new-business quotations.
    • Partner with Human Resources to calculate incentive compensation, bonuses, and commissions.
    • Work closely with the Global Controller on management reporting, forecasting, cash-flow forecasting and management, and annual operating plan preparation.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
    • At least two years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment required.
    • Previous cost accounting experience strongly preferred.
    • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and the practical application of accounting theory.
    • Understanding of manufacturing cost accounting, inventory, labor, overhead, variance analysis, and budgeting.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to accounting, operations, plant, and corporate leadership.
    • Strong command of written and spoken English.
