A bit about us:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to join our renowned law firm. This is an extraordinary opportunity for a seasoned finance professional with a strong background in accounting, keen to make a significant impact on our firm's financial operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the firm's financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and firm administration. This position will report directly to the firm's Partners and will play a crucial role in providing financial insights and operational metrics (KPIs) to help drive key business decisions.

Job DetailsResponsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Develop and monitor business performance metrics; manage the production of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Liaise with the firm's Partners and Leadership team, providing them with regular KPI and financial reports.
- Oversee firm administration, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
- Drive continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting department budgets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a law firm or professional services firm.
- Strong knowledge of corporate accounting and financial systems and processes.
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP).
- Ability to strategize and solve problems.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers.
- CPA is a plus.
