We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controller to join our team in the HVAC industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, cash flow as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. The Permanent Controller will also be responsible for managing and supervising all aspects of our accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Strong experience n Cash Flow, Cash Management and job costing
  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Additional controller duties as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience in a senior role
  • Proven working experience as a Financial Controller in the construction industry
  • Advanced degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or CMA preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with creating financial statements
  • Strong leadership skills and experience with team management
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
  • Strong understanding of project management and performance management principles
  • Demonstrated ability to strategize and implement changes for financial benefit
  • Proficiency in Excel and experience with general ledger functions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
  • Experience with variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Knowledge of contract management and experience in managing suppliers
  • Experience with change management and ability to drive change across the organization.
