Controller

A rapidly growing healthcare organization is seeking a Controller to lead the accounting function and partner closely with executive leadership during an exciting phase of expansion.

This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting support, compliance, and team development. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in GAAP accounting, experience in a regulated industry, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and cash management
• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
• Manage account reconciliations, close processes, and financial controls
• Analyze financial performance and provide variance analysis and recommendations to leadership
• Coordinate external audits, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting
• Maintain and enhance internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures
• Partner with executive leadership to support strategic planning and business growth
• Lead, mentor, and develop an accounting team focused on continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA designation required
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing accounting teams
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Experience with ERP systems, accounting software, and advanced Excel
• Demonstrated success improving processes and scaling accounting operations
• Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills

Preferred Experience

• Healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceutical services, pharmacy, or other highly regulated industry experience
• Multi-entity or multi-location accounting environments
• Exposure to high-growth organizations undergoing operational expansion
• Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
