Controller

A growing healthcare services organization is seeking an experienced Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations and strengthen financial reporting across a complex, multi-entity business. Reporting directly to the CFO, this hands-on leadership role will own the monthly close, GAAP-compliant financial reporting, revenue recognition, cash flow analysis, budgeting, and internal controls.

ABOUT THE ROLE

A growing healthcare services organization is seeking an experienced Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations and strengthen financial reporting across a complex, multi-entity business. Reporting directly to the CFO, this hands-on leadership role will own the monthly close, GAAP-compliant financial reporting, revenue recognition, cash flow analysis, budgeting, and internal controls.

The ideal candidate will bring strong controllership experience in a healthcare or similarly complex, multi-payer environment. Experience with healthcare reimbursement, revenue cycle accounting, or EMS is highly relevant. The Controller will also play a key role in systems optimization, M&A accounting, audit management, and developing the accounting team as the organization continues to grow.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities
• Ensure timely, accurate GAAP-compliant financial statements and lender reporting
• Oversee healthcare revenue recognition, contractual allowances, bad debt, and payer-related reserves
• Serve as the primary accounting owner for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Develop weekly cash flow analyses and support liquidity planning
• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting in partnership with operational leaders and the CFO
• Manage financial statement, lender, regulatory, insurance, and payer-related audits
• Develop and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
• Support M&A accounting, including purchase accounting, fair value assessments, goodwill, and intangible assets
• Oversee fixed assets, lease accounting, and other technical GAAP matters
• Prepare management reporting and financial analysis for executive leadership
• Lead accounting process improvements and automation initiatives
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting and revenue-cycle personnel

QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years of progressive accounting and controllership experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accrual-basis accounting
• Experience leading multi-entity monthly and annual close processes
• Healthcare accounting or reimbursement experience strongly preferred
• Understanding of healthcare revenue recognition and payer reimbursement
• Experience with ERP systems;Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred
• Strong financial reporting, reconciliation, and cash flow management skills
• Experience developing internal controls and accounting policies
• Experience managing external financial statement audits
• M&A and purchase accounting experience preferred
• Knowledge of ASC 842 and other technical accounting areas
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop accounting teams
