Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all accounting and financial operations for a growing manufacturing organization. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, managing month-end close processes, and supporting business leaders with financial insights that drive operational performance.
The ideal candidate has a strong manufacturing accounting background, hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
Prepare timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies to ensure compliance and financial integrity.
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
Partner with operations and executive leadership to support strategic decision-making.
Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary contact for external auditors.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements.
Optimize accounting processes and leverage NetSuite to improve reporting and operational efficiencies.
Mentor and develop accounting staff while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager in a manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience using NetSuite ERP is required.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, cost accounting, and internal controls.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
CPA or CMA designation is preferred but not required.
Preferred Experience
Manufacturing cost accounting.
Inventory accounting and standard costing.
ERP implementation, optimization, or system enhancements.
Process improvement and automation initiatives.
