HumCap's client is seeking a
Controller to lead the accounting function and help strengthen the financial infrastructure of a growing organization. This individual will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, driving operational excellence, and building scalable processes that support continued growth. The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation, hands-on manufacturing finance experience, and the ability to partner closely with leadership to provide meaningful financial insights. Financial Reporting & Accounting- Lead all core accounting functions, including general ledger management, month-end close, and financial reporting.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable financial reporting requirements.
- Maintain the overall integrity and accuracy of financial records.
Manufacturing Finance & Cost Accounting- Oversee cost accounting activities, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
- Partner with operations leaders to improve cost visibility and profitability.
- Analyze labor, material, and overhead costs to identify opportunities for operational improvement.
- Support financial decision-making related to production, procurement, and supply chain activities.
Business Partnership & Analysis- Collaborate with executive leadership to provide financial insights and performance analysis.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations that support strategic decision-making.
- Analyze business performance and recommend actions to improve profitability and efficiency.
- Monitor key financial metrics and communicate trends to leadership.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Management- Assist with the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Monitor performance against budget and provide actionable variance analysis.
- Support cash flow planning and working capital management initiatives.
- Partner with operational teams to improve inventory management and financial performance.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement- Develop and maintain strong accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting accuracy.
- Support external audits and ensure audit readiness.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
Systems & Team Development- Support ERP system optimization and process standardization efforts.
- Assist in developing accounting team capabilities and promoting best practices.
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
QualificationsRequired- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Direct experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or contract manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing financial processes.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial reporting practices.
- Experience supporting audits and implementing internal controls.
- ERP system experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
Preferred- CPA certification.
- Experience in a high-growth or fast-paced business environment.
- Background supporting leadership with financial analysis and strategic planning.
- Experience improving accounting systems, processes, and reporting capabilities
