A well-established pharmaceutical distribution company is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting and finance operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for a strong financial professional who can oversee day-to-day accounting functions, drive process improvements, and manage a team responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and collections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end/year-end close processes.
  • Lead and mentor the AP, AR, and Collections teams, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
  • Manage cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and industry regulations.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and management reports.
  • Monitor receivables, collections, and working capital to support business objectives.
  • Develop and improve accounting procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
  • Partner with executive leadership on financial strategy and operational decision-making.
  • Coordinate audits, tax filings, and relationships with external accountants and financial partners.

Qualifications

  • Strong Controller experience required, preferably within distribution, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or product-based industries.
  • Proven experience managing accounting teams, including AP, AR, and Collections.
  • Deep understanding of financial reporting, controls, cash management, and operational accounting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • CPA is a plus but not required.
