Controller
We are seeking a hands-on Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations for an established, growth-oriented industrial service organization.
The company supports manufacturers by repairing and servicing their related equipment used throughout production and assembly-line environments. While this is a smaller organization, the accounting environment is active and complex, with a high volume of parts, SKUs, repair orders, purchasing activity, inventory movement, and customer invoicing.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys being close to the business, working directly with leadership, and having ownership over the entire accounting function.
Key Responsibilities
The Controller will have primary responsibility for the company's accounting and financial reporting activities, including:
- Lead and actively participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including P&L and balance sheet
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate account reconciliations
- Manage cash flow and provide leadership with visibility into the company's financial position
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and payroll activities
- Manage and reconcile inventory, parts, and high-volume SKU activity
- Ensure accurate accounting for inventory, purchasing, COGS, and related transactions
- Review margins, costs, and profitability across products and services
- Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules
- Manage bank reconciliations and banking relationships
- Assist leadership with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Coordinate year-end accounting and tax activities with outside CPA partners
- Maintain and strengthen appropriate accounting controls and processes
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting, processes, and overall financial efficiency
- Remain actively involved in day-to-day accounting activities as needed
