Our client is seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to lead the organization’s accounting and financial reporting function. This highly visible position will partner closely with senior leadership and have ownership of the monthly close, financial reporting, treasury and cash management, payroll oversight, audit and tax coordination, and other key financial activities.
The Controller will work closely with an Accounting Analyst who supports transactional accounting, reconciliations, invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, and other day-to-day accounting activities.

Key Responsibilities- Own the monthly financial close and preparation of financial statements, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely reporting.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and oversee journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Provide oversight and support to an Accounting Analyst responsible for accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, reconciliations, vendor and client setup, and other transactional accounting activities.
- Manage treasury and cash management activities, including monitoring cash positions, banking activities, and maintaining appropriate financial controls.
- Oversee payroll processes and administration of the company's corporate card program.
- Serve as the primary finance contact for external accounting partners and coordinate annual audit, tax filings, and year-end accounting requirements.
- Oversee designated accounting and financial administration activities associated with an affiliated business, including tracking, reporting, reconciliations, and client invoicing.
- Prepare and provide financial reporting and analysis to senior leadership to support informed business decision-making.
- Evaluate, maintain, and strengthen accounting processes, financial controls, documentation, and reporting procedures.
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, senior leadership, and other stakeholders on financial initiatives and special projects.
- Remain hands-on within the accounting function and provide direct accounting support as needed within a lean organizational structure.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Progressive accounting experience with demonstrated ownership of financial reporting and day-to-day accounting operations.
- Experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or senior-level accounting professional with the ability to independently own an accounting function.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, month-end close, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, AP/AR, and financial controls.
- Experience coordinating annual audits and working with external accounting and tax providers.
- Experience with treasury/cash management and payroll oversight.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills; QuickBooks experience is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to operate effectively and autonomously within a lean, hands-on accounting environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
