Description

Accounting Manager / Controller
Pay: $52–$58/hour
Location: Near Lenox, MA
Employment Type: Temporary, with the possibility to hire
 
Our client is looking for a Controller to lead the financial operations of the company, including accounting transactions, financial analysis, and reporting in accordance with IFRS, to support strategic and operational management decision-making.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage financial operations and reporting relationship with the parent company
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow
  • Prepare required monthly financial metric reports analyzing operating performance against budget and prior periods
  • Manage the annual budgeting process
  • Coordinate and manage the annual financial audit, annual 401(k) plan audit, and annual tax return preparation and filing
  • Oversee the accounts receivable collections process to ensure outstanding balances are collected per agreed-upon payment terms
  • Oversee accounts payable to ensure timely payments per vendor terms
  • Review and ensure bank statements, balance sheet, and expense accounts are accurately stated and reconciled per the monthly closing schedule
  • Oversee and review bi-weekly payroll processing through an outside service to ensure accurate and timely processing
  • Manage cash activity and oversee required management reporting
  • Maintain banking relationships, including required compliance reporting
  • Support ERP system implementation
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Conduct business responsibly and in compliance with applicable state, FDA, OSHA, and cGMP regulations
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of operations and staff for the Finance Department
  • Provide leadership in daily financial operations, and help employees incorporate compliance practices into their daily routines
 
Experience & Education
  • 5–10+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (MBA/CPA a plus)
  • Understanding of basic FDA cGMP regulations
  • Excellent computer skills required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with all levels of employees
  • Strong computer skills, including advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP) a plus
  • Able to work as part of a team to ensure all company standards are met
