We''re looking for a Control Systems Engineer to join our team! This position will focus on managing specialized work efficiently, with confidence and competence. The position requires above average attention to details, concern for the exact correctness of work, and strong commitment to tasks completed on time. The person in this position will take work seriously, has a strong sense of duty, and is disciplined. The position will generally be task oriented, requiring someone with a conservative, careful, and cautious approach to work.
Location: This is a Hybrid role commuting to our office in Kalamazoo, MI.
General Job Duties:
- Performing GrayMatter services to meet client needs, with a specific focus on Control Systems and SCADA architectures.
- Designing, developing, and implementing control and SCADA solutions to resolve customer issues.
- Consulting with and training end users on new applications.
- Assisting in project development and planning.
- Field start-up, troubleshooting, commissioning, and verification of PLC and SCADA environments.
- Performing onsite pilots, testing, and demos as needed.
- Location: This position reports to our Kalamazoo, Michigan location at 2700 Old Centre Rd. Portage, MI 49024 and supports local customers.
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in an applicable field (EE, EET, ME, MET, ChemE, or comparable). An equivalent combination of experience, credentials, certifications, and training will also be considered.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience, specifically with control systems and SCADA software implementation.
- Experience with industrial programming languages (e.g., Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Function Block).
- Experience with Rockwell PLCs.
- Experience with SCADA/HMI platforms (such as Rockwell FactoryTalk View SE/ME, AVEVA/Wonderware System Platform, InTouch, or GE iFix/Cimplicity).
- Basic understanding of Electrical Schematics and electrical installations.
- Acute attention to detail and process.
- Strong ability to solve problems and research solutions.
- Excellent customer service attitude.
- Ability to work both independently and in team environments.

Preferred Skills:
- Siemens PLCs and WinCC HMI.
- Database experience (MS SQL Server).
- FactoryTalk Batch (FT Batch).
- Vision systems experience (Cognex, Keyence, Systech).
