Responsibilities:
The Boone County Sheriffs Office, located in Columbia, MO, is looking for a Control Room Officer.
The Boone County Sheriffs Office is a top tier law enforcement organization. We are one of only a few Sheriffs Office in Missouri that has achieved two national accreditations from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) for our law enforcement operations and from the National Institute for Jail Operations (NIJO) for our jail operations.
The staff at the Sheriffs Office are dedicated to serving their community with the highest degree of professionalism and to serving the training needs of our law enforcement partners. We have been providing training to other law enforcement agencies since 2015 to help with the professional development of our law enforcement partners.
As part of its commitment to providing high quality training to other law enforcement agencies, we took over operations of the local law enforcement training academy in 2024.During the same year we received funding to develop a new Regional Training Center to further support the training mission for area law enforcement. That new facility is now open!

Responsibilities:
A Control Room Officer works inside the Boone County Jail. They work inside secure control centers that do not allow unprotected direct face-to-face interaction with detainees. Contact with detainees is done through secure windows, intercoms, kiosks, or other protective barriers.
Status:
Full-time, non-exempt, benefited
Working hours:
M-F with opportunities to work day, evening, or overnight (third shift) schedules

Columbia, Missouri
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Applicant must be 18 years of age or older.
No felony convictions.
Must pass a medical examination, psychological assessment, a pre-employment drug screen, and an FBI fingerprint background check

Starting Hourly Pay Rate:
$23.03/hour. Shift differential of $1.50 or $2.00 per hour for shifts that start after 6pm weekdays, all shifts on weekends, and all shifts on county holidays.
