Description

Job Title: Control Rod Drive Test Engineer/Mechanical
Long term Contract
Compensation: $52.00 - $85.00
Work Model: Remote – offsite


Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary test engineer supporting the control rod drive mechanism design and deployment, with an emphasis on vendor testing oversight, test planning and testing system interface and design.
  • Coordinate component vendor engineers working on requirements, systems, components, and testing plans for control rod drives.
  • Ensure the test facility is appropriately designed to execute its testing mission for the control rod drive mechanism.
  • Develop, maintain, and refine plant level and system level requirement and specification documents.
  • Support digital design tools and configuration management processes.
  • Lead and support design reviews and resolution of cross functional technical concerns.
  • Design instrumentation for testing, including data acquisition hardware and software.
  • Develop and document test plans, test designs, and procedures for experiments in the large sodium test facility.
  • Coordinate work across multiple teams to produce integrated deliverables.
  • Ensure smooth flow of information between design engineers and test engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of test engineering experience preferred.
  • Vendor test engineering oversight experience preferred.
  • Experience working with high temperature alkali metals in a laboratory environment highly desired.
  • Experience in laboratory or industrial environments.
  • Experience designing and integrating data acquisition and control systems.
  • Experience writing test plans, requirements, and procedures.
  • Experience with post-processing and documenting experiments.
  • Hands-on laboratory work experience including analytical methods, glovebox work, and standard lab practices.
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams to develop novel testing approaches and equipment.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of configuration management principles and design control tools applied to complex industrial applications.
  • Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter with ability to coordinate and lead a team with minimal direction.
  • Nuclear experience and working under a certified NQA-1 program preferred but not required.
