CONTROLS ENGINEER – PLC / AUTOMATION

Our client is a leading ASME manufacturer of steel processing and packaging equipment for the beverage industry. We are seeking a Controls Engineer to design, program, and support PLC-based automation systems for high-performance industrial equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and program PLC/HMI systems (Allen-Bradley / Rockwell preferred)
- Develop electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical
- Support new equipment builds, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects
- Troubleshoot controls issues and optimize machine performance
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and field teams
- Support system integration at customer sites (occasional travel)
REQUIREMENTS
- BSEE or BSEET required
- 3+ years of industrial controls / automation experience
- Strong experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs
- Experience in packaging, food & beverage, or heavy industrial manufacturing preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
COMPENSATION
- $90,000–$125,000 base salary
