What you will be doing:

• Develop and review control-system architecture, flow diagrams, P&IDs, control sequences, and design specifications.
• Develop and review wiring schematics and control-panel layouts.
• Program and integrate PLC and HMI systems.
• Work with platforms including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, GE, Wago, and similar industrial control systems.
• Develop instrument indexes, bills of materials, responsibility matrices, and other project documentation.
• Perform risk and hazard analyses.
• Design, configure, and perform system functionality testing.
• Perform equipment start-up and validation at customer sites.
• Conduct I/O checkout and troubleshooting.
• Calibrate instrumentation and tune PID loops.
• Validate PLC/HMI programming against required control sequences.
• Develop wire-pull schedules and scopes of work for contractors.
• Support equipment installation, troubleshooting, commissioning, and field activities.

Experience you will need:

• Bachelor's degree preferred/expected for an Engineer title.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering concentration will be considered.
• Strong relevant experience may potentially be considered without a bachelor's degree under a Specialist-level title.
• Experience designing, building, programming, and commissioning PLC-based control systems.
• Strong ladder-logic programming experience.
• Experience preparing electrical/control drawings using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Ability to interpret and create P&IDs.
• Experience with industrial instrumentation and controls.
• Experience with system integration, troubleshooting, start-up, and commissioning.
• Engine test-cell instrumentation/control experience is highly desirable.
• Strong technical communication and client-service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
