Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking an experienced Contracts & Procurement Specialist to support a prestigious university in San Jose, California. This full-time position is ideal for someone with a strong background in procurement and contract management, particularly within higher education or similarly complex environments. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented and adept at managing agreements, redlining, and handling solicitations, all while maintaining a keen eye for compliance and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately input and maintain contract details, including MEAs, MOUs, and UOAs, in the system.
  • Red-line and review agreements to ensure compliance with university policies and applicable regulations.
  • Assist in the development and execution of solicitations, including RFPs, RFQs, and bids.
  • Support procurement activities by evaluating vendor proposals and assisting in supplier selection.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve contract-related issues.
  • Maintain well-organized and accessible contract records for audits and reporting purposes.
  • Ensure all procurement and contract processes align with university guidelines and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in procurement, contract management, or a related field.
  • Strong ability to red-line and negotiate contract terms.
  • Experience with solicitation processes and documentation.
  • Proficiency in data entry and contract management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a skilled buyer in a complex organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Prior experience in a university or academic setting is a plus.

Required Work Hours

The position requires availability from Monday to Friday, during standard business hours.

Pay

$40-45/hour
