Job Title: Interim Contracts Manager

Engagement term: Six months, remote, with coverage aligned to Eastern or Central Time zones

Overview

Elevate is working with a global, highly decentralized organization operating in the industrial manufacturing sector with its search for a Contracts Manager to support its sourcing and procurement organization on a remote/interim basis. This role will focus primarily on commercial contracting support, including NDA and supplier contract negotiation, contract administration, and stakeholder engagement.

The Contracts Manager will act as a key interface between sourcing, legal, and business, helping ensure contracts are reviewed, negotiated, and executed efficiently to support ongoing projects and procurement activities. This is a highly collaborative, hands‑on role ideal for a seasoned contracts professional who is comfortable operating independently, identifying risk, and knowing when to escalate issues appropriately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the sourcing organization by reviewing, negotiating, and redlining NDAs and commercial supplier contracts, primarily related to the procurement of goods (e.g., aluminum, electronic components, and other industrial materials).
  • Serve as a primary contracting partner for the sourcing team, advising on commercial and contractual risk and helping enable timely delivery of goods to support business projects.
  • Manage contract negotiation and administration activities, including taking negotiation calls directly with suppliers and external stakeholders.
  • Apply corporate legal policies and contracting standards to support sourcing strategies and center‑of‑excellence initiatives.
  • Fill a critical gap in NDA and commercial contract volume while ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders across sourcing, legal, HR, IT, and business teams in a decentralized, global organization with multiple operating segments and independent P&Ls.
  • Partner with legal team members on complex issues and raise concerns or escalate risks appropriately when needed.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in contracting processes and contract management practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in contracts management, commercial contracting, or a similar role (7-10+ years preferred).
  • Strong track record of negotiating and managing commercial agreements and NDAs, particularly in an industrial manufacturing or procurement‑driven environment.
  • Proven experience supporting sourcing or supply‑chain teams, including contract negotiation tied to goods procurement.
  • Solid understanding of commercial risk management and contract negotiation strategy.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage a high volume of contracts in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Comfortable interfacing directly with suppliers and internal business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in industrial manufacturing, global or matrixed organizations, or decentralized business structures.
  • Exposure to legal entity management, particularly supporting international subsidiaries (Asia‑Pacific exposure a plus).
  • Experience using contract management tools (e.g., HiQ or similar systems).
  • Interest in or exposure to AI‑enabled tools or contract technology.
