Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Contract Closeout Specialist to join our team. In this critical role, you will be the resident expert responsible for performing the final closeouts of assigned contracts. You will ensure that all contractual obligations have been met, deliverables have been accepted, and all administrative actions are fully resolved before officially recommending a contract for closeout working in our El Segundo, CA office.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Final Contract Closeouts: Serve as the subject matter expert in performing comprehensive final contract closeouts of assigned contracts, i.e. ensuring delivery/inspection/acceptance of contractual end items and ensures all administrative/reporting actions have been resolved before recommending closeout

  • Deliverable Verification: Ensure the complete delivery, thorough inspection, and formal acceptance of all contractual end items.

  • Administrative & Reporting Resolution: Verify that all administrative and reporting actions-including financial audits, final invoices, property clearances, and final patent/royalty reports-have been fully resolved and documented.

  • Compliance & Documentation: Review contract files to ensure full compliance with organizational policies, DoW requirements, and relevant regulations. Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation throughout the closeout process.

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate proactively with project managers, financial teams, subcontractors, and vendors to resolve any outstanding issues, unliquidated obligations, or pending financial reconciliations.

  • Final Recommendations: Prepare, review, and submit comprehensive closeout packages, formally recommending contracts for final closure once all criteria are met.

Qualifications

This is you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Contract Management, or a related field and ten (10) years or more of related experience or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of degree.

  • Proven expertise and hands-on experience in contract management, with a primary focus on executing complex contract closeouts.

  • Strong understanding of contract types, procurement regulations, and the full contract lifecycle.

  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex administrative, legal, or financial discrepancies.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Must have an active Top Secret clearance with in-scope SSBI/T5 background investigation with the ability to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information and Special Access Program accesses.

  • Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information and Special Access Programs and consent to a polygraph examination (as required).

You will wow us even more if you have these skills:

  • Experience with DoW contracts is highly preferred.

  • Relevant certifications such as CPCM, CFCM, or other contracting certifications.

Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
