Transfer Agent Governance & Oversight Specialist
Position Overview
As part of ***'s strategic shift to serve clients through a VBA account structure, the Transfer Agent (TA) Modernization initiative will retire VAST and implement a new recordkeeping system (NewT) designed exclusively for intermediated accounts. Due to the complexity of retirement and tax rules, direct accounts referred to as Mutual Fund Direct (MFD) will not be supported in NewT or eligible for the VBA platform.
These accounts will be serviced by BNY as a third-party provider TA, with *** retaining oversight. The new operating model takes effect in May 2026.
The MFD population includes approximately:
23,000 Personal Wealth client accounts
878 Mercer advised client accounts (formerly VIAS)
A limited number of international accounts
*** will maintain client ownership while providing oversight of BNY's execution of transfer agency servicing activities, ensuring services are performed completely, accurately, and timely.
Key Responsibilities
Transfer Agency Operations Oversight
Provide oversight of BNY's performance of Transfer Agent servicing activities.
Monitor service execution to ensure activities are completed accurately and timely.
Support transaction-related operations, statements and confirmations, client call inquiries, website support, client correspondence, tax reporting, and other regulatory requirements.
Operational Process Management
Net settlement
Omnibus reconciliation
Oversee historical document and client operational support requests, including:
Processing requests (Money Movement, Transfer Requests, adjustments, etc.)
Mercer specialty process requests
Elevated client scenarios
Operational support requests
Document requests
Mutual Fund Direct (MFD) Operations Support
Oversee additional less frequent MFD operational processes, including:
Fund event updates
Fund mailings
Forms review
Escheatment
ESA force liquidation
Promotion/demotion
CA matching
Client alerts
Infowave updates
TAC report
Afores
Public site review
IID file updates
Issue Resolution
Manage MFD ad hoc issue resolution related to operational processes.

Business Context
This role supports ***'s first external service provider model for transfer agency servicing while maintaining client ownership and oversight responsibility. The role is part of the TA G&O Third Party Management team and is responsible for governing and overseeing third-party transfer agency servicing activities for the Mutual Fund Direct population.
