Description

Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a Contractor, Commercial FP&A & Dashboard Automation with our medical device client in Fridley, MN. This is a 5-month contract with a potential for extension.

Pay:$55.00 - $65.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.

Description:
The Contractor, Commercial FP&A & Dashboard Automation will help modernize and simplify financial planning, performance reporting and decision support across the Global Commercial Office. Reporting to the Director, GCO FP&A, this role will partner closely with Commercial Finance and Analytics teams to accelerate several projects already in flight and convert manual, fragmented reporting into scalable dashboards and repeatable processes.
 

The role combines strong Commercial FP&A fundamentals with hands-on data, reporting, and process-improvement capabilities. The successful candidate will connect financial and operational drivers, improve transparency to business performance, and enable leaders to spend less time preparing data and more time acting on insights.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Project delivery and operating model simplification
  • Drive progress on a prioritized portfolio of Commercial FP&A automation and reporting projects already in flight.
  • Create clear workplans, milestones, decision logs, issue trackers, and status updates to keep cross-functional work moving.
  • Map current/future state processes and identify opportunities to eliminate duplicate work, standardize inputs, reduce handoffs, and automate repeatable activities.
  • Coordinate with Finance, Commercial, Analytics, IT, and other stakeholders to resolve dependencies and maintain alignment.
  • Help establish consistent KPI definitions, ownership, reporting cadence, and performance narratives across Commercial Finance.
  • Document reporting sources (GSR, OneStream, Tableau, etc.) to capture uses, considerations/watchouts and how each source is leveraged across the team.
  • Gather inventory of the reports and dashboards in use across GCO Commercial functions
  • Create job aides for how to leverage the existing dashboards across the team and for what purpose
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate/retire/enhance/simplify reports across the team
 

Dashboard automation and analytics partnership

  • Partner with Corporate Analytics and Data teams to define requirements, source data, validate logic, and deliver automated dashboards for Commercial FP&A. Many of the deliverables will be produced by Corporate Analytics and this role will partner to provide requirements and drive timely outcomes
  • Convert recurring Excel-based or manual reporting into reliable, documented, and user-friendly dashboard solutions.
  • Develop dashboard requirements, wireframes, metric definitions, data-quality checks, user acceptance criteria, and adoption plans.
  • Reconcile dashboard outputs to source financial systems and approved reporting, ensuring accuracy, control, and consistency.
  • Improve data visualization and storytelling so leaders can quickly identify performance, trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Establish practical governance for dashboard ownership, refresh cadence, access, documentation, and ongoing enhancement.
 

Expected deliverables:

  • A prioritized roadmap and status view for in-flight Commercial FP&A reporting and automation projects.
  • Automated or materially streamlined dashboards for agreed Commercial KPIs and financial performance views.
  • Standard definitions and reconciliation logic for key metrics and reporting outputs.
  • Documented current-state and future-state processes for selected FP&A deliverables.
  • A repeatable reporting calendar, ownership model, and operating rhythm for dashboard and performance reporting.
  • Executive-ready insights and recommendations that connect financial results to commercial drivers.

  • S&R data in Corp dashboard
  • EA Data in Corp dashboard - Quarter End – Saturday flash
  • Commercial (EA, Remote, ASC, Distribution) weekly sales revenue reporting
  • EA Revenue Snapshot (top 5 drivers: Standard Sales, Capital Sales, Bulks/QEDS, Rebates Accrued, Admin Fees Accrued)
  • Gross Margin dashboards – EA and ASC (would like to start reporting on for ASC so we can include in FY28 comp plan)
  • Current state Quota process and future state model to align with OUs, streamline and simplify this process and use Glean/AI to automate allocation of quota out to DEA territories
  • Inventory of dashboards/onboarding manual, reports used across the team – document purpose, audience, source, any considerations to be aware of when using
  • ASC Daily Sales
  • Establish travel and hiring automation/workflow processes to be leveraged across GCO to bring visibility and consistency
 

Commercial FP&A and performance management:
Support weekly/monthly reporting, forecasting for Commercial functions.

  • Prepare recurring reporting and variance analysis versus plan, forecast, and prior year, with clear commentary on key business drivers.
  • Build driver-based models, scenario analyses, sensitivity analyses, and ROI views to support commercial decisions and active initiatives.
 

Qualifications:
Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Analytics, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, Commercial Finance, business analytics, management reporting, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience building or improving financial reporting, KPI dashboards, or management information solutions.
  • Strong financial modeling, variance analysis, and data interpretation skills.
  • Experience partnering with Analytics, Data, BI, IT, or systems teams to deliver reporting solutions.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large or complex datasets.
  • Strong project management, organization, prioritization, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Ability to operate independently, manage multiple workstreams, and create momentum in a matrixed environment.
 

Preferred

  • Familiar with Power BI, Tableau, SAP, or comparable financial and analytics platforms.
  •  
  • Experience in a global, matrixed, Commercial, MedTech, healthcare, or manufacturing organization.
  • Experience defining data requirements, metric governance, dashboard adoption, or reporting controls.
  • Experience simplifying and standardizing FP&A processes through automation.
  • MBA, CPA, CFA, or equivalent advanced qualification.
