Responsibilities:

  • Develop project bid strategies based on contractor relationships, competition, equipment specifications, pricing, labor requirements, and manufacturer support
  • Partner with the estimating and preconstruction teams to prepare accurate and competitive proposals
  • Review proposals for scope, exclusions, alternates, substitutions, labor requirements, and value-engineering opportunities
  • Communicate with manufacturers regarding project-specific pricing, discounts, substitutions, equipment specifications, and availability
  • Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, estimators, project managers, project executives, owners, developers, architects, and foodservice consultants
  • Participate in bid reviews, bid leveling, scope leveling, de-scope meetings, scope comparisons, and contract negotiations
  • Follow up after proposal submission to address questions, clarify scope, and advance opportunities through the award process
  • Present proposals and negotiate pricing, scope, commercial terms, and contracts
  • Coordinate with project management and operations following award to support the transition from contract sales to project execution
  • Travel to contractor meetings, de-scope meetings, jobsites, and project locations as needed within the United States

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in commercial foodservice equipment, commercial kitchen construction, design-build, estimating, project management, preconstruction, or contract sales
  • Experience working directly with general contractors on substantial commercial or institutional construction projects
  • Understanding of commercial construction bidding and the general contractor decision-making process
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, foodservice plans, equipment schedules, and bid documents
  • Working knowledge of bid leveling, scope leveling, de-scoping, scope exclusions, alternates, substitutions, value engineering, and change management
  • Understanding of how commercial kitchen equipment interfaces with electrical, plumbing, gas, HVAC, ventilation, framing, and field conditions
  • Ability to commute to the office during the initial training and onboarding period
  • Ability to travel within the United States as project needs require

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 85k - 100k/year range
  • Established top performers can earn approximately 30k or more in total annual compensation
  • Mileage, tolls, airfare, rental vehicles, and other approved business-travel expenses are reimbursed
  • Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, and a 401k with company match following the eligibility period
